How To Pick The Perfect Floor Plan McKee

How to Pick the Perfect Floor Plan for Your New House

February 16, 2022

When you are looking for a new house, the process can be overwhelming. There are so many things to think about! One of the most important decisions you will make is which floor plan to choose. This decision will determine how your house functions and impact how comfortable you and your family will be. The premier Utah home builders at McArthur Homes offer some excellent tips on how you can choose the best floor plan for your new home.

Think About What is Missing Where You Live Now

The first step is to think about what is missing in your current home. What do you wish you had more of? More space for entertaining? A study or home office space? Maybe a guest room for when family comes to visit? Possibly a larger kitchen? Once you know what you are looking for, you can start thinking about which floor plan will fit your needs best.

Consider Your Lifestyle and Needs

Your lifestyle and needs should also be taken into account when choosing a floor plan. If you have young children, you may want to choose a plan with more bedrooms and bathrooms. If you are an empty nester, on the other hand, you may want something with less square footage.

We also can’t predict the future, but we sure know how to imagine what life will be like for your family in a decade. If you plan on staying put at this new home of yours then think outside of today and plan fully towards tomorrow as well. Thinking about your new home today is just as important as how it will be used fifteen years from now as well.

Think About How You Want to Use the Space

The layout of your home is an important factor when looking for the right fit. If hosting gatherings is something that piques your interest, then odds are good that a more open house plan would work better. This type of floor plan can accommodate all your guests comfortably without feeling too cramped or tight at any point during their visit.

For example, all of the floor plans that are offered at our newest community, Rockwell Ranch just outside of Lehi, are open and bright floor plans that are made for gatherings and entertaining guests.

Know Your Budget

Of course, your budget is also an important consideration when choosing a floor plan. Many of our clients choose to look at multiple floor plans so that they can see all the amenities and finishes they will get inside their budget. There is a variety of floor plans available within each community, but some models have different options than others depending on your budget and needs.

Think, Are You Able to Picture Yourself Living There?

Once you have narrowed your choices down to one or two different floor plans, think about how they will work for your family. Can you picture yourself living in and enjoying this home? Do the floor plan layouts feel right and allow easy access for your family throughout the house?

A good way to get a better idea of what it would be like living in a certain floor plan is by visiting the community where these homes are located so that you can take a tour of some model homes. Our wonderful sales associates at each McArthur Homes neighborhood are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have while touring our Utah home builders’ floor plans.
