Do you have your Memorial Day plans in place? If not, check out these 5 Fun Family Outings in Herriman, Utah. From splash parks to man-made lakes, Herriman has a great range of family friendly activities, making it the perfect place to build your new home in Utah.
1. Cool off at a local Splash Pad
There are several splash pads located throughout Herriman. If you are building your new home in Herriman at The Meadows, then the nearest splash pad is in Rosecrest at 14070 S. Rosecrest Road (5600 W.). Or if your new home is at Herriman Towne Center, check out the splash pad just across the street behind the J.L. Sorenson Recreation Center! Splash pads are especially great for younger kids who can’t swim on their own but want to be independent!
2. Dive in at the J.L. Sorenson Recreation Center
Want to really get wet? Visit the JL Sorenson Recreation Center just across from our new homes at Herriman Towne Center. This facility offers an amazing swimming pool with water slides and fun for all ages. There are also classes for Zumba, Spin and Aqua Combo if you want to get your exercise in early.
3. Take a hike in Butterfield Canyon
Although Herriman now offers all of the amenities you would expect of a great suburban city, it is still only moments from beautiful mountain scenery. 4. Go Fish at the Cove Pond
Spend some quality time with the kids at Herriman’s local fishing hole. Cove Pond is stocked with rainbow trout, bluegill, largemouth bass and channel catfish. The pond is located off Rose Canyon Road at about 6900 West.
5. Enjoy Sand and Sun at Blackridge Reservoir
Herriman, Utah is also home to a beautiful man made reservoir, nestled in the south west corner of Rosecrest at about 5390 W. 14940 S. This is a great place to enjoy the sunshine, play in the sand and take a swim. As a bonus for those with kids, you can drive right up to the lake, no hiking around with chairs, towels and umbrellas. Blackridge Reservoir is also very popular as a training location for those preparing for a triathlon. The water is clean, clear and excellent for swimming!
